Greetings Mt. Vernon Family,

Proverbs 18:21 says, Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Words have the power to bless and to curse. God spoke the world into being. When Adam and Eve sinned God spoke death as judgment. Paul warns us to let no evil talk come out of our mouths, but only what is useful for building up, as there is need, so that our words may give grace to those who hear Eph. 4:29. Our words have the power to create situations good or bad that we and others will have to live with. James says, be quick to hear and slow to speak James 1:19. On the positive side we have the power to speak life over our situations. We can speak blessing, and healing over ourselves, our families and friends. Let us choose our words carefully and speak life.

Father, in the name of Jesus, I speak life and protection over the members of Mt. Vernon church, our families and our friends. I speak divine health to our bodies, courage to our spirits, and soundness to our minds. Let Your peace guard our hearts and minds continually. Order our steps Lord, keep a watch over our mouths. I speak love and unity over our relationships. I speak maturity, growth and ministry opportunities for our congregation. I speak increase over our finances.
