Greetings to my beloved Mt. Vernon Family and Friends,

We are excited about Ash Wednesday virtual service, this Wednesday, March 2, at 7:00 pm. Enclosed in your mailing is the Order of Service, as well as ashes for your participation in our virtual service. During the Lenten season, it is our custom to Fast and Pray. Our Daniel Fast will begin this Ash Wednesday for those of us who plan to fast for forty days. For those who plan to fast 21 days, the fast begins March 24. Both fasts will end the Saturday after Good Friday, April 16, 2022, at 6:00 pm.

We have much to fast and pray about. The Church worldwide needs prayer. The world needs prayer. The heads of nations and government leaders need prayer. America needs prayer. Mt. Vernon needs prayer. Our families need prayer. Our schools need prayer. Our frontline workers need prayer. Our Prayer Cell Ministry meets six different times during the week. Please connect with at least one Prayer Cell every week and petition God about these concerns. Let us put on the whole armor of God and PRAY. Amen!
