Greetings Mt. Vernon in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, 

But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; He will speak only what He hears, and He will tell you what is yet to come (John 16:13 NIV).  

Father, we thank You for the Holy Spirit, third person of the Trinity, our helper, our comforter, our leader, and our guide. In this time of discernment, we the members of Mt. Vernon and our pastor place You at the center of all our decisions and deliberations. We are not our own. We are not our own. The church is Christ’s body, purchased with His blood. Father, we want what You want for Your church. We are Your masterpiece, created for good works You planned for us long ago. Give us discerning ears to hear and understand your voice. Give us spiritual insight to know Your will and give us the strength and ability to do Your will. We thank You Father in Jesus name, Amen!
