The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. (Jam 5:16 NKJ)
My Beloved Mt. Vernon,
Coming to you with grace, faith and a knowing that our God is a mighty miracle worker. For just over a year, I have been battling cancer and I’ve been very fortunate to be receiving some great care. Now, at this time I am asking for your prayers. Jam 5:16 tells us the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. I will be starting a new treatment of chemotherapy, Tuesday. Pray for God’s divine healing touch and that the treatment is highly effective and efficient with minimal side effects. Pray that God gives our scientist and doctors wisdom to treat and even cure cancer. Pray that God removes any and all hindrances to His prescribed treatments and cures. Our faith must be put into practice otherwise faith without works is dead (Jam 2:20). Prayer warriors, prayer cell leaders, let’s put on the whole armor of God and do battle in prayer. I will be on medical leave for the next eight weeks. District Superintendent Dr. Elijah Stansell will preach on Sunday. He will tell you more about my leave and your interim pastor for the next eight weeks. I have no doubt that the leaders of Mt. Vernon will carry on the business of the church–God’s business– with the same spirit of excellence in which you have always operated. I love and pray for you all daily. May you be richly blessed!
Be Richly Blessed!
Pastor Deborah Giles
