Hello Mt. Vernon Church Family,

AM I HURTING?

Friends, are you very concerned about personal health, the health of your family, the health of your church, the health of your community, state, and nation? Healing of all the hurts we have experienced over the last few years begins with each of us. Let’s take a look inside and explore what are we holding on to since the passing of Pastor Green; the inception of Pastor Giles; our horrific experience with the pandemic, which caused illnesses, passing of loved ones, shut down of our churches, working at home, unemployment, isolation, etc.; worshiping at home with loved ones or alone; return to church with limited attendance; lack of involvement of church members; loss of tithes and offering; illness of Pastor Giles and inception of an Interim Pastor; and the passing of Pastor Giles.

This is a tremendous degree of hurt for anyone to digest, to process and begin the journey of healing. Where are you in your healing process? How are you managing your personal, spiritual, physical, and emotional health? Please do not push this aside as not affecting your health. Pray Psalm 139: 23-24 and let God be the judge. After praying, please be quiet, still and meditate on the scripture. Invite God to help you identify the areas of your life that are hurting, and then pray for assistance from the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you to processes for healing. Bless your life by acknowledging that you hurt, why you hurt and that you desire to be whole again. Find a positive scripture to hold on to and recite it all throughout the day! This is your life, please seek God’s direction then follow God’s promptings through the POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT.

Be Richly Blessed!

Rev. Hazeline “Hazel” Jackson
