Greetings Mt. Vernon Family,

This is the third Sunday in a Lenten series Called Mosaic: When God Uses All of the Pieces by Author Shane Stanford. His book explores common areas of brokenness such as rebellion, restlessness and regret. God wants to heal these areas of brokenness and bring wholeness to our lives if we allow Him. God has given me sermons around each of these areas of brokenness. This Sunday’s message is entitled, “When God Uses Our Rejection” from Mark 6:1-6. As we continue our Daniel Fast during this season of Lent, let us read, pray, reflect, and surrender our broken places to God who will graciously heal us. Let us also serve one another as God leads. The following are scriptures and questions to guide you in your reading and reflections next week March 8-13:

Monday: Isaiah 53:1-12

Tuesday: John 8:1-11

Wednesday: John 14:15-26

Thursday: Romans 8:38

Friday: John 6:37

Saturday: Hebrews 13:5

Questions to Consider:

Read Matthew 9:12-13; 27:27-31; Acts 13:50-52; Romans 11:14-16 and 1 Peter 5:7

1. What does God say in these passages about living with rejection?

2. How has rejection affected your relationships?

3. What would life look like if you embrace God’s acceptance of you, His healing and His new direction for you?

Be Richly Blessed,

Pastor Deborah Giles
