Greetings Mt. Vernon Family,
And she brought forth her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in swaddling clothes, and laid Him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn Luke 2:7.
Over two thousand years ago in Bethlehem, Mary gave birth to Jesus the Savior of the world and placed Him in a manger—a feeding trough in a stable. There was no room for the young couple in the inn. No room for a woman with child in labor. No room for the Savior of the world to be born. Tomorrow is the day we celebrate the birth of our Savior and Lord. But is there room for Jesus in our celebration? Jesus is still coming into the hearts of people if we make room for Him. In Revelation 3:20 Jesus says, “Listen! I am standing at the door, knocking; if you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in to you and eat with you, and you with me.” Make plenty good room in your heart for our Savior this Christmas. Make HIM the center of your joy and celebration. After all, it is HIS birthday that we are celebrating.
Amen!
Pastor Deborah Giles
