Greetings Mt. Vernon Family,

This is our fifth Sunday in the Lenten series Mosaic: When God Uses All of the Pieces by author Shane Stanford. This series explores broken places in our souls and how God heals them. The sermons I have preached thus far have explored how God heals our broken places of rebellion, restlessness, regret, rejection and responsibility. When we come to the end of ourselves and we surrender to God at the crossroads of brokenness and wholeness, God is there to heal and restore us. This Sunday’s message is entitled, “When God Uses Our Resources.” As we continue our Daniel Fast during this season of Lent, let us read, pray, reflect, and surrender ALL of our broken places to God. Jesus is inviting you to leave your baggage at the altar and never reclaim it again. God will graciously heal us and make our lives masterpieces. The following are scriptures and questions to guide you in your reading and reflections next week March 22-27:

Monday: John 3:16-17

Tuesday: Luke 21:1-4

Wednesday: Psalm 54:6

Thursday: 2 Corinthians 9:10-11

Friday: 1 Peter 4:10

Saturday: Proverbs 3:9-10

-Also read Job 36:30-32; Matthew 15; Mark 8; Luke 9; 12:14-16; John 6; 2 Peter 1:1-3.

Questions to Consider

1. What do these passages of scripture say about the potential for how we use our resources?

2. What priority do you give God in the way you use your resources?

Be Richly Blessed,

Pastor Deborah Giles
