Greetings Mt. Vernon Family,

Ephesians 6:14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place…

With the belt of truth buckled around our waist, we then put on the breastplate of righteousness. The breastplate protected the soldier’s heart, lungs and other vital organs. The divine breastplate of righteousness the Christian wears into battle is not our own righteousness. Remember, Satan’s battleground is in our minds. Satan can poke holes in our righteousness all day long because we are sinful creatures. But God has made us right with Himself through the blood of Jesus Christ our Lord. We wear the righteousness of Christ. By faith in God and Christ’s righteousness, we guard our hearts. We say NO to Satan’s attempts to make us feel unworthy, unloved, insignificant, and unacceptable. We believe and we confess what God says about us. We are blessed with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ Eph.1:3. We are chosen, forgiven, accepted and beloved children of God. We do not work to make ourselves right with God. We work because we are grateful that God has made us right with Himself and He has given us the divine power to live righteous through faith.

Be Richly Blessed,

Pastor Deborah Giles
