Greetings Mt. Vernon Family,

I have said this to you, so that in me you may have peace. In the world you face persecution. But take courage; I have conquered the world!" Joh. 16:33.

When a doctor carefully explains the procedure and the pain we may feel before he or she performs the procedure on us, we know what to expect. Even though there will be pain, we find some measure of peace and comfort in knowing what to expect. Prophecy is God telling us what is to come, what we can expect. Jesus spoke of wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes, pestilence and famine. Jesus did not tell us these things to scare us, but to let us know that while things may seem out of control, He is very much in control and by trusting Him we will have peace. Jesus has conquered the world and we are more than conquerors through Him who loves us.

Take courage!
