Greetings Mt. Vernon Family,

…And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up in the clouds together with them to meet the Lord in the air; and so we will be with the Lord forever. 1Th 4:16-17

If you are a born-again believer and follower of Jesus Christ, then the Spirit of Christ lives in you, and you are a saint according to the bible. Sainthood is not given by a group of religious leaders but by God who sends the Holy Spirit to live in us when we place our faith in Christ. November 1st is “All Saints Day!” So, the first Sunday in November we remember as a church family those saints who have touched our lives and gone before us to be with the Lord. Our memory of their faithfulness to Christ should encourage in us a deeper devotion to Christ and greater service. This is not a time of mourning but a time of gratitude for those who have so richly blessed our lives. It is also a time of looking forward to the day that we will meet up with Jesus and our saintly loved ones in the air, and forever we will all be with the Lord. Amen.
