Greetings Mt. Vernon Family,
Yes, everything is for your sake, so that grace, as it extends to more and more people, may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God. 2 Corinthians 4:15
Our English word grace comes from the Greek word Charis. Charisma, charismatic, joy and rejoicing are all derived from this word. From the same word we get Eucharist that refer to the elements of bread and wine in the Lord’s Supper. Grace is God’s unmerited or undeserved favor. God’s grace cannot be earned. God freely lavishes His grace upon us. We are saved by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8). We grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord (2 Peter 3:18). Grace is God’s good will, His kind intention and loving kindness towards humankind. When God’s grace truly penetrates our hearts, our lives reflect it in thanksgiving to God. God’s grace and our gratitude go together. Let us reflect on the goodness of God and give thanks to God.
Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
Pastor Deborah Giles
